Our Mission:

Our mission is simple: Pay it forward. Animals are part of our family and world. They deserve to be well cared for, protected,
loved, cherished, free from harm, neglect, exploitation and abuse.

HISTORY:

Friends of the Animal Kingdom, Inc., was founded in the summer of 2003. It was discovered that several area pet owners
were considering giving up their beloved fur children because of an unexpected veterinarian bill. Through the sales of pet
quilts from Peeper Day Designs, online auctions at e-Bay and some very wonderful donors [yes, there are angels among us],
we were able to raise the necessary funds and negotiate a settlement of the veterinarian's bill.

Friends of the Animal Kingdom, Inc., provides assistance to pet owners that have experienced natural disasters such as
tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, fire, earthquakes and families during these tough economic times. A gift of $10.00, $15.00 or
$25.00 can feed a small/medium sized dog or a cat for two weeks.

It is a proven fact that owning a companion animal [fur child] can improve a person's overall health [mental & physical],
including their over-all quality of life. This rings especially true with older adults and people that live alone.

Friends of the Animal Kingdom provides assistance to various law enforcement agencies in the ongoing effort to combat
animal abuse and neglect against domestic and wild animals and birds that grace our world. We are members of the Animal
Legal Defense Fund [ALDF]. If you have information about animal abuse or neglect, please call us at 1-630-776-0081. All calls
are confidential. We do not need your name, just reliable information and facts leading to an investigation, arrest and
conviction of the offender or offenders.

Friends of the Animal Kingdom, Inc., is supported by public donations and proceeds from auctions and sales proceeds from
Peeper Day Designs. We receive no government funding. All donations are tax deductible.

Latest News From the Director:

Friends of the Animal Kingdom has been actively involved with the various rescue groups in the Gulf of Mexico region. Many
birds have been rescued along with eggs from nests. However, there is much more work to be done.

Summer is upon us and unfortunately, many folks believe it is acceptable to let their cats out to roam. People, this is a bad
idea all the way around. Cats can come into contact with wild animals that are know to carry diseases such as rabies. In
addition, birds and other critters can be infected with the West Nile Virus which is deadly for felines, canines and humans.
Please do not let your cat roam about the neighborhood. Many people are just plain mean to cats in general and if your pet
gets into their backyard, they could be injured, poisoned or worst, get hit by a car.

Have a wonderful, safe and Happy Summer!

Love,

Elin "Ellen"  Day
